My name is Zsolt Magyar.
I grew up in Hungary then I moved to LA in 2000.
In Hungary, all films were dubbed before 2000, so I was surprised to find out when I was in film school at UCLA that movies have sync sound in the US.
I got so excited about this that I immediately decided to become a Sound Guy.
I found out that my European attitude helps me a lot
on film sets.
I am quiet, I am a team player, and I am very easy
to work with.
My education as an electric engineer,
a software developer
and my music background
is a perfect fit to be a great sound mixer.
Here are the main questions that producers usually ask me.
– A portable package with an 8 track recorder and 6 wireless receivers
– A Sound Cart package with a 12 track recorder and 12 wireless receivers
– Sound Devices 788T – Portable package
– Sound Devices 688 – Sound Cart package

Yes. I worked in Budapest two times already /Midsommar-2018, MHT-2015/. Traveling for work is my favorite way of shooting.
Sure, no problem. Please, email me about it and I will gladly give you the names and phone numbers.
Yes. I was the Sound Mixer on “THE ROOM”. Tommy choose me right away when I went to the interview. “THE ROOM” was my 2nd feature film back in 2002, so I didn’t know what to expect from Hollywood. Being on the set was crazy, ridiculous, intense, and funny at the same time.
I learned something though:
No matter what project I take on, I should always treat every film like it’s going to be the most famous film I ever work on.
